Rename Mt. Evans Mt. Blue Sky
Colorado - October 1st -9th, 2022
Please join this Prayer Walk with members of the Southern Cheyenne Arapaho, Northern Arapaho, Northern Cheyenne, Colorado Ute, Lakota, and Dine' Tribes along with Ancestral Healing Circle, Mestaa'ėhehe Coalition, Tipi Raisers, NativesOutdoors and others. We will begin with an opening ceremony at Noon Sat. Oct. 1st at the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site. Participants will walk, ride horses and run the 250 miles to the base of Mt. Evans for a closing ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 9th at Noon at Echo Lake Lodge. This walk is in support of all the hard work many have done to move this proposal to rename Mt. Evans to Mt. Blue Sky toward completion and Heal the History concerning Gov. Evans' complicity in the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864.
